Mr. Ahualli has over 50 roles under his belt, including Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Alfonso XI in La Favorita, Belcore in L’Elisir d’amore, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Silvio and Tonio in I Pagliacci, Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana, Germont in La Traviata, Posa in Don Carlo, Count di Luna in Il Trovatore, title roles in Macbeth, Nabucco, and Rigoletto, Renato in Un ballo in maschera, Scarpia in Tosca, Michele in Il Tabarro, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Frank in Edgar, Marcello in La Bohème, Ping in Turandot, Figaro and Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Leporello and Masetto in Don Giovanni, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Escamillo in Carmen, Albert in Werther, Creon in Medée by Milhaud, Onegin in Eugene Onegin, and Tony Esposito in The Most Happy Fella.
Since his debut in the role of Papageno in Die Zauberflöte with Teatro San Martin in his native Tucumán, Argentina, Mr. Ahualli has sung at the iconic Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, as well as other Argentinean venues such as Teatro Argentino de La Plata, Teatro Avenida for Buenos Aires Lírica, and many others. In the United States, he has sung with the Palm Beach Opera, Sarasota Opera, Central City Opera, Washington National Opera, Baltimore Concert Opera, Opera in the Heights in Houston, TX, the New York Opera Society, Wichita Grand Opera, New Rochelle Opera, Opera Company of Brooklyn, NY Lyric Opera Theatre, New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, New Jersey Little Opera Company, The Raylynmor Opera, Union Avenue Opera Theatre, Vertical Players Repertory, Opera of the Hamptons, and the Choral Society NYC, etc.
A champion of Zarzuela and Spanish-language opera, Mr. Ahualli has sung Vidal Hernando in Luisa Fernanda with Teatro Avenida in Buenos Aires and Teatro San Martin de Tucuman, Juan el indiano in Los Gavilanes with Asociacion Opera Romanza in Lima, Peru, Julian in La Verbena de la paloma with Opera del Buenaire and Teatro Avenida in Buenos Aires, and Santi in El Caserio with Opera Municipalidad de San Martin Buenos Aires. He has created the roles of Moritz in Max and Moritz and The Father in the Super Sized Girl, both by Gisle Kverndokk, Andrea Signorelli in Un racconto fiorentino by Louis Gioia, the title role in Pilate by Bernard D Kennedy, and The Dark Side, a song cycle by Ricardo Llorca.
On the concert stage, Mr. Ahualli has sung as a soloist with Orquesta Sinfonica UNT, Orquesta Estable de la provincia de Tucuman, Orquesta Sinfonica de Avellaneda, Orquesta Academica del Teatro Colon, Orquesta Filarmonica de Buenos Aires, Westfield Symphony Orchestra, St Patrick’s Cathedral Orchestra, Sacred Heart Cathedral Basilica Orchestra, Boheme Opera Orchestra, and Landon Symphonette in works such as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Mass in B minor and Missa Solemnis, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, the Faure Requiem, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Vaughan Williams' A Sea Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, J.S. Bach's St. Matthew Passion and Magnificat, and the Schubert Mass in G Major. An avid recitalist, Mr. Ahualli champions the Argentinean, Latin American, French, and Italian Art Song Repertoire and has performed recitals and concerts worldwide in a variety of diverse venues such as the Teatro Colon, Teatro Argentino de La Plata, Casa de la Cultura de Buenos Aires, Teatro Alberdi de Tucuman, the Embassy of Argentina in Washington, D.C., Comune di Macerata in Italy, Sarasota Opera, Holy Cross Church, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Sacred Heart Cathedral Basilica, Alice Tully Hall, Estonian House in New York City, the Hispanic Society of America in NYC, and Trinity-St Paul’s Centre in Toronto with the legendary soprano, Aprile Millo.
He sang alongside distinguished artists such as Aprile Millo, June Anderson, Luis Lima, Ailyn Pérez, Isabel Leonard, Jonathan Burton, Jose Cura, Victoria Livengood, Michael Fabiano, Alicia Cecotti, Eduardo Ayas, Montserrat Marti, Vladimir Chernov, Marcelo Alvarez, Dwane Croft, Maria Lujan Mirabelli, Jacqueline Livieri, Ricardo Yost, Fabian Veloz, Virginia Correa Dupuy, Elizabeth Caballero, Monica Ferracani, and Ainoa Arteta, among many others. Additionally, some distinguished conductors under whom Mr. Ahualli has performed include Julius Rudel, Anton Guadagno, Victor DeRenzi, Emmanuel Plazon, Roberto Paternostro, Carlos Vieu, Emir Saul, Pedro Ignacio Calderon, Christopher Zemliauskas, Dante Anzolini, Gisle Kverndokk, among others.

Gustavo Ahualli was born in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina. He began his musical training at the age of seven with Hilda Deniflèe, a student of Kodály and Bartók. He received a bachelor's in Music from UNA and his Master's in Vocal Performance from the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Upon moving to the United States, he was named the first-prize winner of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera Competition. While in New York City, he served as a bilingual cantor for Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and the Sacred Heart Cathedral Basilica in Newark, NJ. Some other concert credits for Mr. Ahualli have included his appearance as the bass soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony as part of a mass offered by Pope Benedict XVI on his 2008 visit to Yankee Stadium. He also performed for Pope Francis during his visit to DC for the canonization of Junípero Serra.
Mr. Ahualli is an AGMA and NATS member and currently lives in Washington, D.C., where he serves on the Voice Faculty for the Vocal Performance Division and as Director of the Latin American Music Center at the Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art at The Catholic University of America.
